With the firm since 2007
Jacob grew up in Cedar Falls. He began his career at AHTS through the summers while studying at Iowa State and then, upon completion of his bachelor’s degree in Architecture (with a minor in Digital Media) from Iowa State in 2011, became a permanent member of the AHTS team. Jacob’s passion lies with historic renovation and preservation projects. He enjoys seeing the transformation of a space that’s been abandoned for 50 years, bringing back the character and charm it once had.
This mindset of revitalization has led to an interest in repurposing furniture with his wife Marisa; they love the challenge of taking furniture that has been left in the attic or kicked to the curb, then turning it into a focal point in their home. Jacob also enjoys camping, ice fishing, biking on the Cedar Valley trails, hiking at Hartman Reserve and the downtown Main Street atmosphere.
Jacob and his wife Marissa are parents to two young children.
